Now that we have established the basic idea of this variation (extended harmony chord notes), let's apply it to the first four chords of the piece.

The C major becomes a major 7th.
The C-sharp diminished becomes a diminished 7th.
The D minor becomes a minor 7th.
The G becomes a major 6th.

We'll add more to the G later. For now let's use the G6 as a simple way to get back to the C major 7.
